Frequently asked questions
We call ourselves semi-vanilla because we do have custom tools and terrain, as well as some QoL adjustments, but we like the keep the bulk of the game as vanilla as possible.
We have no plans to reset the server and do not plan on doing "seasons". Any rumors of a server reset of any kind can be assumed to be false unless it has been announced by a staff member in the discord.(https://discord.gg/T4W6GeFJMV)
The SMP server is set to hard mode.
Keep Inventory is ON in the resource world, end world, and nether world. In the main world where your base is, it is off, though all players have access to /back to retrieve items quickly.
By default, PvP is disabled for all players who join. You can self toggle PvP in-game by doing /pvp, though spawn/admin locations are still "PVP Safe" always, except for the built in PvP arena.
Anything left unclaimed is fair game to take, claim, or grief (though destroying our overworld is not allowed). If you want to protect your things, you must claim them. Staff will not be able to help with unclaimed griefed builds. However, you are not allowed to target a player's claim line in order to grief areas.
There are many ways to get claim blocks!
⤷ Simply play! Every hour you're actively online, you get 10 claim blocks
⤷ Vote for the server! Every time you vote for the server, you get 20 claim blocks. That's up to x (placeholder, still deciding how many vote links) claim blocks a day!
⤷ Buy them from players! Check out /gd buy blocks to see what is available.
⤷ Play chat and fishing contest games! Winning them will award you various amounts of claim blocks.
⤷ Join monthly events! You will receive claim blocks just for participating to the end.
⤷ You can also buy coins from our online store and spend them in /coinshop in-game to buy thousands of claim blocks at once.
Claims that are under 2000 blocks will auto unclaim after 90 days of inactivity. Claims over 2000 blocks will never unclaim.
Warps do get removed after 90 days of inactivity, just like claims do. The best way to prevent this from happening is to let a friend hold onto the warp for you if you know you will not be able to log on.
Although we don't have a specific mob cap per chunk, excessive mob accumulation is not allowed.
Players may not create or maintain farms or areas with large numbers of entities that negatively impact server performance. As a general guideline, having more than 20–30 mobs within a small area (approximately one chunk) may be considered excessive.
Staff reserve the right to remove or limit any mobs, farms, or entities that are deemed harmful to server stability, regardless of exact numbers.
Named mobs and protected entities are still subject to these limits.
At Glow Network, we have a few different currencies.
The main currency is dollars, which is how you will pay and get most things on the server. We also have coins, which are obtained through games or our server shop. Our last currency is vote coins, which is obtained through voting and allows you to buy unique items in the server vote shop.
We have a spawner crate that allows you to obtain a handful of various spawn eggs to make spawners with. This crate can be opened with keys that are obtained with coins. There are also a few spawn eggs in our quest crate, which can be opened with keys from completing quests in game. All players can pick up empty spawners in the wild, and we also allow our final vote and paid ranks to pick up the actual spawner types in the resource world!
The things we sell in our store do not give you a direct advantage over other players but may save you time to get certain things. Anything you can receive in the store, you can receive in game with enough time and efforts spent. You can also receive any paid crate keys for free through server events or can buy them from players in game. Payments on the store allow the owner to spend more time running the server, improving your experience, growing the community, and much more.
You must build at least 100 blocks away from an existing claim, unless you have written consent otherwise.
Overworld: 20k x 20k
Nether: 15k x 15k
The End: 15k x 15k
Resource World: 10k x 10k
You are welcome to speak to any staff member in-game regarding any issue, but you may also be requested to or need to make a ticket to further your discussion. Please do not @ staff members or discuss punishments in public channels to get their attention. Make a private ticket instead.
The best way to report anything is the ticket system in our discord. If you do not have a discord,(https://discord.gg/T4W6GeFJMV) message a staff member in game and they can help you.
Yes, this is very appreciated if you want to! We are also in the process of creating a media rank to give some extra perks to those who share our server!
If you're on java, you likely wrote your name wrong! If you're on bedrock, make sure to include the dot before your name! If you are sure you have done these tickets, open. aticket on our discord!(https://discord.gg/T4W6GeFJMV)
You are not allowed a refund. Keep in mind that if you receive a temporary ban, nothing will happen to your claim or items! If you get permanently banned, you will still not be allowed a refund. Respect our rules and be updated to make sure you're not breaking any rules!
